Last week, we posted some ideas for a fab girls night out in London. Now it’s the boy’s turn!
There is no better way to celebrate the end of a week than by getting all the boys together for a night of beer-induced debauchery and no better place to do it than the centre of our beautiful capital. With pub upon bar upon club, there is certainly no shortage of things to do in this thriving city. Nevertheless, concocting the perfect night out can be a challenge, particularly once the booze starts flowing. Staying in the same place all night can be fun on occasion but it definitely won’t make your night one to remember. However, changing bar every 30 minutes will wear you out and make your friends hate you. So, we have put together the ultimate itinerary for the perfect boy’s night out.
Meatmarket, Tavistock Street
Kickstart your night with some juicy hamburgers or delicious wings at Meatmarket
Before you get on it, it’s time to line your stomach. Thick, juicy patties, smothered in cheese, hot sauce, onions, bacon and anything else you can think of are the fare at Meatmarket. The food is generous in size and sublime in taste. Add some chips or wings on the side and you have yourself a veritable feast my friends. You might even want to drink a beer or an alcoholic milkshake while you’re at it.
Shakespeare’s Head, Kingsway
Would a night out even be a night out if you didn’t stop in at a Wetherspoons at some point along the way? The Shakespeare’s Head is a great place to start the night with its cheap booze and laidback atmosphere. Stop in here for a pint or two (but no more than that or the rest of the night might not be as fun) before you head to the next location.
Top Secret Comedy Club, Drury Lane
Now we take a break from talking to each other and we listen to someone smarter and funnier than us talk for a bit. Considered one of the finest comedy clubs in London, the Top Secret Comedy Club has seen the likes of Seann Walsh, Shappi Korsandi, Dara O’Briain and Jack Whitehall and continues to churn out stellar shows night after night. The Top Secret Comedy Club also prides itself on its bar, offering affordable drinks with prices starting at only £3 per pint. Try finding cheaper drinks than that in central London! With several quality acts each night, you’re sure to walk out with aching cheeks.
Craft Beer Co, High Holborn
Now the real drinking begins. Welcome to Craft Beer Co, home to literally hundreds of different types of beers, ales, lagers and more. Sample a few before you commit to a choice for the best experience and pace yourself. With so much on offer it will be tempting to rush your drink so you can move on to the next one but try and refrain. No-one wants to have to drag you home as the clock strikes midnight like some sort of hairy Cinderella.
Dirty Martini, Russell Street
If you are still functioning by this point then it is time for something a little classier. Open till 1 and with a menu full of mouth-watering cocktails, Dirty Martini is where you lower your voice and turn on the charm. This will probably be your first and only chance for finding love tonight so smarten up and look sharp as you indulge in a martini or 6.
Finally, it has come to the point in the night where all good men must simply throw their hands in the air like they just don’t care as they boogie the night away to every cheesy chart song that has ever been released in the history of 21st century pop music. Expect to stick to the floor, sweat buckets and have a really, really good time in this great club located on the world famous Shaftesbury Avenue. Enjoy!
