How to get to Shaftesbury Avenue

By Tube

Travelling by tube is definitely the quickest way of travelling to Shaftesbury Avenue. Piccadilly Circus is the closest station and serves the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines. When you arrive at Piccadilly station, leave the station using the exit that directs you to Shaftesbury Avenue.

Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly lines) and Covent Garden (Piccadilly line) are also within walking distance of Shaftesbury Avenue. With these stations, you should walk through Leicester Square and turn right onto Wardour Street. Walk down this road until you get to the junction of Shaftesbury Avenue.

Please note: Between 7 – 9:30am and 4:30 – 7:00pm on weekdays are peak times. So, if you want to avoid the rush, please plan your journey accordingly.

By Rail

There are a number of rail stations within reasonable walking distances to the West End. It will take you approximately a 10 minutes walk to reach Shaftesbury Avenue from Charing Cross station. To get there, follow signs and head towards Piccadilly Circus. When you arrive at Piccadilly Circus, position yourself facing Regent Street, Shaftesbury Avenue will be the street on the right hand side.

For those travelling from Waterloo, you should cross either the Golden Jubilee bridge or Waterloo Bridge. Walk down the Strand towards Charing Cross station and follow the instructions above.

From London Victoria, walk through Green Park and turn right towards Piccadilly Circus. Face Regent Street and you will find that Shaftesbury Avenue is the street on the right.
