Stylish, sleek and elegant, the Terrace Grill and Bar, part of the luxury Regency-style Meridien Hotel, is a stunningly light and airy space, with a spectacular sun-filled atrium lined with graceful stone pillars. Overlooking bustling Piccadilly, its lofty glass roof and spacious interiors provide a tranquil haven for enjoying the magnificent views across the city, from the huge dramatic conservatory windows. Beyond the windows is a spacious terrace, for al fresco dining in warm weather.

There’s a definite British slant to the gourmet menus – the restaurant prides itself on sourcing all its ingredients direct from local farms and fisheries. The result is classic cuisine such as terrine of wood pigeon with duck liver, or the signature dish of Blythburgh free-range pork belly, as well as steaks exclusively cut from Surrey farm beef. There’s an extensive wine list, but the drink offering really specialises in gin – in fact, there’s a dedicated Gin Bar, offering one of the widest selections in London.

The Terrace’s unique offering is the Gin & Tonic Afternoon Tea in the upstairs bar – the gin and tonic is actually served in its own glass teapot, to remind you that this really is the traditional afternoon tea.
